Today on our 2013 Hyundai Elantra, we're going to take a look at, and show you how to install, the CURT T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, with the four pole flat trainer connector. Part number is C56126. As you can see, it's nice, out of the way. We don't see any wires hanging out or anything like that. But when we need it, simple as pulling that up, pulling our wire out.

That's going to be able to set right over that threshold right there. That padding right there on that weatherstrip gives up plenty of room so we can just close our trunk up, just like that. Today on our 2012 Hyundai Elantra, we'll be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, with four-pull flat trailer connector, part number C56126. We'll go ahead and begin here, by opening up the trunk of the vehicle.

Next, we'll need to remove this rear scuff panel. To do this, we'll need to remove three plastic fasteners.

Two that have kind of wing nut style design, where you can simply unscrew them with just your hand, and the center location you'll need to use either a large flat-head screwdriver or a trim panel remover tool. Once we have these three fasteners out, we can go ahead and lift up the center scuff panel and set it out of the way.

Today on our 2012 Hyundai Elantra well be installing the Tow Ready T1 connector, part number 118532. First to start off our install, well need to remove some interior trim panels and fasteners to gain access to the wiring behind the taillights. Well start with the spare tire cover. Well go ahead and remove it and set it out of our way to make the installation easier. Next well remove the rear threshold. The rear threshold has three fasteners securing it into positions, two cargo hooks and one pushpin fastener.

Today we are going to install part number 119175 from Tow Ready and we are going to install this circuit protected tail light harness on to a 2006 Hyundai Elantra. To do our wiring we are going to have to get inside the trunk and we are going to have to tap in behind the tail lights on both sides.

What we are going to do is go ahead and take off this panel behind the tail lights and this will give us access to the wire harness. These are the wires we are going to be connecting to. We are going to hide everything into the interior panel here so all of this is going to come loose or off and go all the way across and do the same thing to the passenger side. Lets take out the carpeting and we will work on this threshold right here.

These are going to plug into the connection points behind the driver's side and passenger side interior trim panels. Red and green side runs to the passenger side of the vehicle. That's why you have some excess wiring here that are red and green. Your yellow and brown runs to the driver's side. Once you have those connected, they're going to match up perfectly with our connectors.

They're going to snap into one another for a nice, tight, secure fit. You're going to need to make your ground connection. That's going to be your white wire with the ring terminal attached to it. Make your ground connection to a nice, clean metal surface.

You can do that using the self-tapping screw that's included with this kit. Once you have everything plugged in and your ground made, you're going to need to secure your converter box. You do so with the double-sided adhesive tape to a nice, clean, out-of-the-way location.

The tail light to converter is designed to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. It's constructed using surface-mount technology for consistent, reliable performance.

What that means is it's going to maximize your trailer light yield and intensity, while producing minimal heat. It's going to ensure superior operation even in rough road conditions. Here on this side, we're going to have the four-way flat wiring and connector. The connector is going to have a nice dust cap on there, so you can protect the connection points when you're not using the connector itself. Plenty of wiring that we can feed that out the back of the vehicle, make your connection as necessary. Again, with this system, it's an easy installation. You don't have to worry about cutting or splicing any wires.

It's also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all electrical connections, like the plugs on your vehicle and the four-pole connector itself to help prevent any type of corrosion from being able to settle into this connection points. If you don't have dielectric grease, we do offer that on our website.

It's sold separately, but you can pick that up while you're here if you don't already have some. That's going to do it for our review of part number C56126. It should not affect your warranty either, there is actually a Federal Law called the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. The Act states that if something breaks on your vehicle and you take it in for warranty repair, the dealer must honor your warranty unless whatever modifications you have added to your vehicle actually caused the problem in question.

The trailer hitches we offer for your vehicle are Class l hitches with a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening and are all rated with a 200 lb maximum tongue weight and 2,000 lb maximum towing capacity. I was unable to find information about the towing capacity for your 2013 Hyundai Elantra Sedan. You will want to check your owners manual and or with your dealership to find out what the capacities are for your vehicle. The hitch I recommend for you is the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver,. Hardwiring your 2014 Hyundai Elantra with a Tow Ready Upgraded Circuit Protected Modulite with 4 Pole Harness # 119179KIT will entail tapping into your taillights and using a circuit tester (included) to determine which wires are your turn signals, running lights and brake lights. Once you determine the functions, you will want to run the harness's yellow wire to the left turn signal, the brown wire to the running lights, the red wire to the brake lights, and the green wire the right turn.

When it comes to a trailer hitch receiver for your 2014 Hyundai Elantra, I recommend going with the Draw-Tite Sportframe, # 24902. This hitch offers a 2,000 lb towing capacity and 200 lbs of tongue weight. One of the perks of the Draw-Tite hitch is that a support strap, like part # 18050, is NOT required on non-trailer loads in order to maintain your warranty. If you plan on doing any towing with your Elantra, I recommend that you start by checking your owner's manual to determine it's.

You are correct - Tow Ready wiring harness # 118473 does NOT require you to run a 12V power wire up to the battery when installed in a Touring edition of the 2011 Hyundai Elantra. If you have the sedan then the harness you need is part # C56126 which also does NOT require you to run a power wire. With ball mount # 3594 you can use 1-7/8-inch hitch ball # 19256 or 2-inch ball # 19258.

These are the recommended hitch balls for use with this ball mount. Hitch # 24902 from Draw-Tite will. For towing a small trailer with your 2015 Hyundai Elantra you would want the Draw Tite hitch # 24902.

This has a 2,000 lb trailer weight capacity and would work well. For a ball mount you would need part # 3594 and for hitch balls you would need # 19258 for a 2 inch ball and part # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball.

For trailer wiring you would want the part # C56126 which is also a confirmed fit. Before installing a trailer hitch on your 2016 Hyundai Elantra you first have to tow according to the towing limits posted in your owner's manual. No matter the weight rating for the trailer hitch, the towing capacity of your vehicle takes precedent. According to your owners manual, trailer towing is not recommend with the 2016 Hyundai Elantra.

The reason for this might be that weight of a trailer on a hitch (tongue weight) may be too heavy for the frame and rear axle on the Elantra. All of the hitches you referenced are basically the same hitch just made by different companies, any of them would work very well for you.

The most popular one we offer with our customers has been the Curt Hitch part # C11303. This would be the one I would recommend for you. I attached an install video for you to check out as well. Since you plan on doing some towing you will need a few other products to complete your towing setup. For a ball mount you would want the # C45521, for a.

I spoke to my contact at Tow Ready and he informed me that the correct wiring kit for your 2014 Hyundai Elantra Sedan would be the Tow Ready Wiring Harness part # 119190KIT. Curt does not have an option and the # C56233 and # C56216 would not work for you. The hitch I recommend for your 2013 Hyundai Elantra Sedan or Coupe is the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 24902.

If instead you have a GT Hatchback you would need the part # 24905 as long as your model wasn't built in Korea. As long as the second digit of your VIN isn't M this would work well.

The ball mount I recommend is part # 3593. This ball mount provides either a 2-1/8 inch rise or 2-3/4 inch drop, and includes the pin and clip. If you need a 1-7/8 inch ball.

To tow a trailer that uses a lighting system that has the turn signal and brake lights combined on the same circuit with a vehicle that has the two circuits separated (like your motorhome), you would need a tail light converter like part # 119178KIT. The wires on the input side of the converter would tap into existing tail light wiring as follows: Green wire on converter taps into right turn circuit Yellow wire on converter taps into left turn circuit Brown wire on converter taps into.
