94 Subaru Impreza Service Manual
That's an interesting question; I'd like to know of any similarities as well. If you haven't already, you might pick up the Haynes manual that covers your model year. Generally, each Haynes manual will cover from x to x model years, thus, you might get closer in pinning down the similarities between production years. Whether or not you've done this, a call to Fuji Heavy for an actual shop manual ($$$) will be quite a help - you'll find out the simiarities and differences as well as get yourself what's likely a top notch shop manual. Come to think of it, Bentley manuals are excellent, but IIRC they're only written for German makes. Good Luck, CJ.
Well the problem is i CANT FIND the x-x model years for my suby! It's a 99 outback sport (impreza) and the only manuals i cant find are either for legacys, or the model years arent right. I just need a manual thatll cover what my car's got, that's why im curious as to what the model breakdowns are. Wikipedia says that they are the same form 1995-2001, but then on the same page says that it's 1995-1999. And even this isnt helpful, cause i can't find any manuals for the impreza outback sport specifically.
Should i maybe just look for impreza, and not worry about the 'outback sport' part? Is my car an Impreza 'outback sport' or is it an Outback sport 'impreza'? So you would be looking for the Impreza manual, which should deal with all versions of the same basic vehicle. Try This is the Subaru of America technical information web-site.
You can select the year (1999) and model (Impreza) in the drop down lists at the “Reference Publications” tab at the upper right. Then go to the “Subaru Service Manual” line. The manuals are broken down into individual pdf files by section, subsection, and sub-subsection etc, the latter each covering perhaps as little as one page. A complete manual could have in the range of 700 –800 files. Many individual files are 25 to 50 Kb each, although some are over 1 Mb.

A 72-hour subscription for about $35 should be enough time to download the manual as well as relevant TSBs, training materials, etc (in pdf format). Used printed SUBARU factory shop service manuals can often be found on eBay. Cost: $100 on up. Haynes manual is ok for certain basic service tasks but is lacking and has errors in some areas. For TSB's (Technical service bulletins) check out they have many of them in their TSB section. Also has summaries (but not details) of most Subaru TSB's. The $5 CD's on eBay I have not tried so I cannot comment. There are places on the Web that have some or all of the service manuals for certain model and year soobs posted; sometimes people post links to these in various forums or find them in google. Other resources: register free at my.subaru.com with your VIN# and for 1996 and later soobs you can see certain service history, open recalls, etc.
Ok, so you've spilled coffee on your owner's manual. Or maybe the dog ate it. Perhaps your used Subaru didn't come with an owner's manual. But whatever the reason, you'd like to get a new one.
